Abraham Lake is completely frozen over and ice thickness is now averaging 20 cm at all major bubble viewing spots.

The Ice Bubbles Parking Lot and Hoodoo Creek offer the best bubble viewing conditions with some nice clear patches, and good (although somewhat bumpy) skating away from shore. Abraham Slabs and Cline Landing also have good bubbles but the ice is a bit rougher at these locations and could use some wind to polish its surface. Receding water levels are affecting ice quality at Preacher's Point but you will find neat ice features and some great patches of bubbles if you look around. Watch for weak, fractured ice and areas of open water.

As always, be cautious navigating steep shorelines with fractured ice. Lower-angled sections are safer for accessing the lake and we highly recommend using traction devices.

Now that the lake is fully frozen with consistent ice thickness, we'll be posting updates less frequently. Stay informed about snowfall and temperature changes by keeping an eye on the weather forecast. We'll provide updates when significant changes occur. If no new update has been posted, it means that we are not aware of any major changes on the lake.

Happy exploring!

Some great patches of bubbles and neat ice features can be found across the lake.

Looking southwest from Windy Point.
