Recent snowstorms, strong winds and cold temperatures are giving the ice more and more character.
Ice thickness is well over 20 cm across Abraham Lake. Following the recent storm, the lake is partially covered in snow, but with the winds howling relentlessly today, it should clear and polish beautifully for the weekend. You can find patches of bubbles at all major bubble viewing spots, except Cline Landing which is currently almost fully snow-covered.
As the water level continues to drop, the shoreline is becoming steeper, making access to the ice increasingly challenging in some areas. Be sure to wear proper ice traction devices and seek out lower-angled entry points for a safer descent onto the lake’s surface.

Great bubble patches and neat ice features can be found across the lake.

Abraham Lake is partly snow-covered and the winds are blowing strong!

Full snow coverage at Cline Landing as of Feb 12, 2025.
